Renovlies prices in 2026: what should you expect?
The price of having renovlies installed varies. Online you will see prices from EUR 6 to EUR 20 per m2, but what is actually included in those numbers? And what determines what you pay? In this article we provide a clear overview.
Average renovlies prices in 2026
Based on our own pricing and the Dutch market, these are the typical rates in 2026:
Renovlies only, without painting: - Basic 150 gr quality: EUR 7 to EUR 10 per m2 - Premium 150 gr including repairs to uneven spots: EUR 10 to EUR 13 per m2
Renovlies including latex painting: - 1 coat of latex, white shade: EUR 12 to EUR 16 per m2 - 2 coats of latex, colour of your choice: EUR 16 to EUR 22 per m2
Glass fibre wallpaper including painting: - Starting from EUR 18 per m2, increasing for heavier substrates
At Bouwcons we work with fixed packages: the basic package from EUR 9/m2, the premium package for EUR 13.50/m2 and the deluxe package for EUR 18.50/m2, all including materials and travel costs.
What determines the price of renovlies?
1. Weight and quality of the renovlies Heavier renovlies, for example 180 gr or 200 gr, is more expensive than standard 150 gr. For most new-build homes, 150 gr is sufficient.
2. Condition of the substrate A wall that needs preparation, such as sanding, repairs to uneven spots or masking of frames, takes more time and therefore costs more. At Bouwcons, mechanical sanding and repairing unevenness up to 2 mm are included as standard.
3. Surface area Larger areas are often more efficient to work on and lead to a lower price per m2. A complete new-build home of 200+ m2 is cheaper per square metre than a small studio.
4. Is painting included? Renovlies only is the cheaper option. But if you are having it applied anyway, it makes sense to combine it immediately with painting. This saves an extra visit and extra travel costs.
5. Region Labour costs in the Randstad are generally slightly higher than in other regions. Bouwcons is based in Rotterdam and works throughout South Holland.
How can you save on the cost?
Neighbour discount: Do you have neighbours in a similar situation? At Bouwcons you receive EUR 1/m2 discount on the basic package or EUR 1.50/m2 on the deluxe package when at least 3 homes request a project together. This can result in significant savings.
Timing: Request a quote outside the high season of spring and summer. In autumn and winter, contractors can sometimes be more flexible with scheduling and pricing.
Combine services: Having renovlies, painting and possible dormer finishing done at the same time saves travel costs and leads to a sharper overall price.
